2005, Mussorgsky's Pictures at an exhibition
For two non-orchestral performances, Ballarat and Diamond Creek, we performed an impressive choral arrangement of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition by Peter Butler from Bendigo, with Colleen Arnott, David Cox and Lucas Richter as soloists. This was with two pianos and he and Ian played for performances as Boyd conducted.
Unfortunately Ballarat had a disappointing audience of around 20 including four Dutch tourists who happened to be passing, but Diamond Creek was successful and the orchestral performance was a real high for the choir of 34.
These history notes have been kindly provided by our long-term artistic director and co-founder, Graham Ford.
